From the East Valley Tribune:
Group rallies against Covance in Chandler

Pictures of monkeys in viselike mechanisms and “Say NO to Covance” signs lined downtown Chandler on Sunday afternoon as about 100 animal rights activists protested the drug-testing company setting up shop in the city.
Covance plans to build a 400,000-square-foot facility on Price Road between Queen Creek and Germann roads, where it would test drugs on animals such as mice, hamsters, primates and dogs. The company bought the land last summer for $8 million.
I haven't really given too much thought to this whole thing, but as a consumer, I am grateful we live in a society where drugs are available for conditions from asthma and allergies to cancer. Those drugs wouldn't be available without testing, both animal and otherwise. Given the choice between animal testing and not having medicine, I choose medicine. I think most other people feel the same, which is why these protests will go nowhere.
Good to hear someone is not “Say NO to Covance”. I choose medicine too. Expose this PETA backed group of local wack jobs.

I am with you. I will probably vote for. My main question, and it is something that really confuses me. Where are all these activists for our children. How come I never see someone standing on a corner with a sign, that says “No to child abuse” or “No, to babies being born addicted to drugs”, or how about “Stop, the hunger for AZ homeless”.
These are just things that pop up in my head, and are probab;y not that important compared to “Stopping testing for medinice that will probably save someone they love life”.

When I found out Covance was building in Chandler I thought okay they are coming, great.
I researched the Company for an association (employment position).
I learned Covance is very deceptive, they are not what I thought they were.
Covance does not develope any life saving drugs, they are just a Contract lab.
They have more government violations then all the labs put together in Arizona and California. Considering their history Arizona better take a closer look. I found another website StopCovance.com, the government violations and other facts were posted on this site. It was very disappointing and shoking. They have nothing to do with health care.
